Oh Captain, My Captain

Standard

Many people are discussing the life and talent of Robin Williams, who left us yesterday.  I will not pretend to have any but the most shallow of knowledge of his life, but I have always been a huge fan of his acting, his humor, his voices, and his brilliance.

For people my age, Robin Williams’ name is equivalent to the Genie from Aladdin, Peter Pan from Hook, “Oh Captain, My Captain” and “Seize the day, boys” from Dead Poets Society, “It was a run-by fruiting” and “Dude Looks Like A Lady” from Mrs. Doubtfire, “I have to go see about a girl” from Good Will Hunting, and much more.  From the jungles of Jumanji to the icebergs of Happy Feet, he will be missed.

I hope he is in a healthier, happier place now, and that he knows he will be fondly remembered.
